Dental Coverage Changes:

If you were enrolled in an Allina Health Aetna plan in 2024, your dental coverage is different in 2025 as related to in and out of network providers.

 

Whether you see and in or out of network dentist, you have an allowance for your Dental coverage as follows:

• Plus: $1,550

• Smart Fit: $2,050

• Premier: $1,500

• Grand: $1,800

• Elite: $2,100

 

However, as a change in 2025, if you see an out-of-network dentist you will pay for 20% of the cost of your services. Drug Coverage Changes:

• If you are on the Smart Fit plan:

  • Your deductible on Tier 3-5 drugs is going from $400 to $590.​

  • Your cost sharing at preferred pharmacies on Tier 2 drugs is going down from $10 to $0. 

  • Your Tier 3 drugs are going from a co-insurance of 20% to up to 24% (preferred pharmacies), your Tier 4 drugs are going from a co-insurance of 40% down to 24%, and your Tier 5 drugs are going from a co-insurance of 27% to 25%. 

• If you are the Premier plan, your deductible on Tier 3-5 drugs has increased from $150 to $250.  

• If you are on the Plus plan, your deductible on Tier 3-5 drugs has decreased from $300 to $250. 

• If you are on the Premier, Elite, or Plus plan, you may see slightly higher co-pays on your Tier 2 medications in 2025.  

• For Plus, Premier, Grand, and Elite plans, cost-sharing for Tier 3-4 medications has moved to co-insurance, or percentage of the cost of the drug, versus a flat co-pay amount.

  • For Tier 3 medications that were previously a $47 co-pay per month, you will now pay 25% of the retail cost.

  •  For Tier 4 medications that were previously a $100 co-pay per month, you now pay 26% (Premier and Plus) or 35% (Grand and Elite) of the retail cost.

  • The result of this shift means that you could be paying more for your Tier 3/4 medications versus 2024, or less, depending on the retail cost of your drug.  ​
