Congratulations on your new Medigap (Medicare Supplement) policy, as well as your new standalone Part D (prescription drug) plan, if you selected one.

 

Here are some things to know:

• There is a $283 Part B deductible in 2026. This is the amount you will pay for your Part B medical expenses before your Medigap coverage begins, unless you became eligible for Medicare prior to 2020.

  • If you have a Basic or Extended Basic plan, your plan will cover 100% of the Medicare approved Medical costs after your Part B deductible, so long as your provider accepts Medicare.​

  • If you have a Plan N (Co-Pay Plan), you will pay $20 to see a doctor or $50 to go to the emergency room after your Part B deductible is met. Other medical costs will be covered at 100% so long as your care is Medicare-approved, and your provider accepts Medicare.

  • If you have  Plan F (High Deductible Plan), you will pay your Part B deductible and then 20% of your Part B costs, as well as your Part A deductible and daily hospital co-pays for stays longer than 60 days, until you meet your Medigap plan deductible of $2,950 (for 2026 enrollments). After your out of pocket expenses hit $2.950, your medical costs will be covered at 100% so long as your care is Medicare-approved and your provider accepts Medicare. • The Annual Medicare wellness exam is not the same as an annual physical. However, your Medigap plan may include an allowance for an annual physical. Please review your benefits information.

• Your Medigap plan does not include dental coverage. Please call us at 763-878-5994 if you would like to discuss that option, or use our easy dental plan finder by clicking here. 

• About your Part D (prescription drug) coverage: It is important to choose a pharmacy that is in your plan’s network so that your medications will be covered. You can use your carrier's online search tool or call their member services number to find a preferred and/or in-network pharmacy.

• Your drug plan is subject to annual change. In September, you will receive an Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) that will outline plan changes for the coming year. You have the option to change your Part D plan during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) between October 15 and December 7:

  • IMPORTANT: Due to carrier restrictions, in most cases we are not able to serve as your agent for your Part D coverage. • Your Medicare Advantage plan does not offer sufficient coverage if you travel out of the country. Milestone Medicare can help you secure comprehensive coverage for international travel.
